There’s nothing quite like a New Years Eve wedding.  We don’t have the opportunity to celebrate a wedding on December 31st every year, but we definitely jump at the opportunity every time it presents itself.  We are so, so glad that we got to spend December 31, 2019 with Ellen and Justin!!!  They are two of the sweetest, kindest, most easy-going people we have ever met.  And their families are just as kind!  Everyone made Elena and I feel so welcome and included from the very first moment we arrived.  Honestly, from the time that we met Ellen and Justin at their engagement session (CLICK HERE if you didn’t see those super cute pictures), we knew that we were going to have fun with them on their wedding day.  But, we didn’t know it was going to be that much fun!

Elena and I met Ellen, Justin, and their families and wedding party at Asante Lodge.  It was a beautiful day and, when we arrived, everyone was busy getting ready.  We had plenty of time for pictures of details and everyone getting ready.  Ellen and Justin (wisely) decided to do a first look.  But, before we could get to that, Ellen had a bit of a surprise for Justin.  One of Justin’s best men, who was already married, put on his wife’s wedding dress and surprised Justin with a “first look”.  All the girls got to watch from inside the house and it was such a funny moment.  Once we finished that, Justin regained his composure and it was time for the real first look.  Ellen was so beautiful in her dress and their first look was such a sweet moment.  We spent a few minutes taking some really cute pictures of Ellen and Justin.  Because of their decision to do a first look, we were even able to get all of the wedding party pictures taken care of and most of the family pictures!  That saved us a bunch of time after the ceremony.

This was our first trip to Mae’s Ridge.  What a cute venue!  The reception hall is big enough to fit a large crowd, but still cozy…and it looked amazing with Ellen and Justin’s decorations.  Behind the reception hall is the outdoor covered ceremony area.  Ellen and Justin’s ceremony was beautiful!  After the ceremony, we spent a few more minutes finishing up family pictures and then it was time to party.  The hit of cocktail hour was the AMAZING assortment of snacks and munchies.  One of Ellen and Justin’s friends handled all of the cocktail hour appetizers.  And to make the appetizers even better, they spread was placed on a custom made table (also made by one of Ellen and Justin’s friends).  Dinner was super tasty.  Immediately after dinner, Ellen and Justin cut their cake and the dessert table was open.  After a few toasts, the dance floor opened and Nikita, one of the wedding DJs with Austin Classic DJ, kept the music playing.  It was non-stop dancing until the New Years countdown began.  Our wedding photo booth was also on-hand to provide even more entertainment…and it was a huge hit!  The photo booth was busy all night.  At midnight, a huge cheer went out and kisses were exchanged.

Ellen and Justin, thank you so much for sharing your special day with us.  We had such a great time with you and your families and we are so happy for the two of you.  Elena and I wish you many, many years of love and happiness together!
